Important
I’m slowly adding new entries and moving journal entries from my old site onto here. This is one of the posts I brought over that always makes me smile. I love how she throws in the music stuff, since at the time she wrote this, I had been gone five times to Nashville to write & record. I’m grateful she was able to see the importance of me doing that, even though she missed me terribly.

Chain-link poem assignment for 4th grade: (object is to write a poem with the last word in a sentence being the first word in the next sentence and so on)
My daughter chose me as her subject and titled it “Important.” I was so touched, as she read it to me this morning, my eyes still droopy from sleep. What a wonderful way to wake up and what a talented writer she is. I’d like to take credit, but I know God poured many unique gifts into her, some similar to those I have and others totally unlike me. She is a talented, sweet, funny girl and I’m blessed to be her Mom. Most days, I don’t feel important, but today – I certainly do.
Remind someone today how important they are to you.
IMPORTANT
You have to have skill.
Skill is important.
Important, like you have to know how to wash the dishes, sing really pretty songs and make an album out of them, clean and dust the house, make beds and food and other stuff.
Other stuff that is still really important …
Important – that’s another name for my Mom.
