Winter – Haiku

January 17, 2010, Posted by Mela at 11:51 PM

One of my favorite sites, incourage.me is encouraging us to celebrate being creative beings, by issuing a Haiku challenge. Check out the other amazing Haikus as well here.

Winter is the theme and because our view outside is a crisp, blanket of snow, I chose to focus on my kids playing in the frosty fun.

WINTER

Flakes fall fat and fast.
Their long eyelashes heavy -
they laugh, smile and wait

I love those fat and fluffy flakes and that you brought smiling faces and snow laden lashes into the picture. Reminds me of the joys of winter : ) Thanks for sharing!

Your poem makes me see the kids and the beautiful snow. My favorite parts are the “eyelashes heavy” and the idea of waiting for more to come. Great job!
