Where are you going?
In December and early January, we intentionally took time off to rest, regroup as a family and refocus. Then, we both started traveling . . . a LOT. Though we’ve not really rested yet, we are doing our best to be ambassadors of Christ and following where He leads us.
Greg has been extremely busy with full-time commercial photography, part-time freelance work, last-minute location shoots . . . not to mention leading our Evangelism Committee and Love in Action group at our church, being a member of the school board, a co-founder of 4:10 Ministries . . . and the Dad of our three kids and my husband. WHEW! Yes, he does it all really well, in case you were curious. And, no, he doesn’t sleep much, if you’re wondering that.
You can see, we are still in the midst of a very busy season. In keeping with that, Greg has been given a unique opportunity, through his gifts, to shoot the setup for the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver. It’s a very humbling experience and one we do not take for granted. We are blessed through this relationship with his client, who happens to be a dear friend as well.
Greg has been to Vancouver twice already and is headed there again to photograph his client participating in the Olympic torch run. I was feeling a bit covetous of this job – until they invited me along.
Greg then surprised me that we’ll also be attending the opening ceremonies. I KNOW – WOW! These are big plans, big doors and big adjustments to our schedules and life.
Though we are busy and often tired, we are also renewed my God’s faithfulness. We are inspired by His power & His Word. We see glimpses of His glory in our everyday lives. He keeps surprising and delighting us with the people He’s putting in front of us and beside us – to inspire and challenge us and lift up and encourage us. I’m thankful that God in His divine wisdom is making ways for Greg to use his gifts, for me to use mine and then designing still other ways we can use our talents & mission together.
Of course, in all of this busyness, it’s easy for us to forget what our focus is.
He has sanctified us (set us apart) and sent us into our mission fields. And, in this place, and in this time, this is where we are to be. This is where and when we are called to be servants of God. We pray always to put Him first in our lives and give Him the glory. We hope for the faith and courage to be obedient in going where he’s calling us to go next, and not forgetting Him when we get there.
Where have you been sent?
