this kid is eight … this kid is amazing
.
a year ago, he celebrated his birthday in a wheelchair
he rocked out seven surgeries, healed amazingly and smiled through most of it
.
he’s been a bundle of extremes
charming from the get-go
Our “Gus the Bus”
.
the kid with so much to say
loves big and lives loud
.
the combination of his attitude and charisma might be the death of me
he gets his looks from his Dad and his need for an audience from me
all the world’s a stage for our silly Max
.
.
he’s a deep thinker, a smart questioner and quite possibly the best prayer sayer
wears his heart and ketchup on his sleeve
.
brave enough to take fish off the hook, but still sleeps with a light on
a leader who follows Jesus unashamed
.
the younger brother, our baby, yet the largest (9 lbs!) at birth
loves Clone Wars, Pokemon and playing his DS
makes friends easily, from 7 to 87 (age is irrelevant when making friends)
.
likes thing “just so”
a lover and a fighter … and often both within seconds of each other
a grand storyteller, face maker and belly laugher
.
.
a showstopping, let’s make it count, moment maker

Thanks, Aunt Linda – we’re heading to Valleyfair this morning and maybe some time on the lake later. We had a great time celebrating at Mom & Dad’s this weekend. The boys loved visiting you guys this Summer. Love to you all too!
